New England Travel Guide

Let me just start by saying that this trip was the trip of a lifetime – it was one for the books, in more ways than one! I have always wanted to visit New England, but especially New England in the Fall! And, we did New England the right way – we visited Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts (Salem and Boston). We did, saw, and ate everything we wanted and we didn’t hold back and feel that we got a great taste of New England, even if the trip was only 5 days! One downfall, and something I don’t […]

Springtime in DC

It’s always been a bucket list item to make it to DC during Cherry Blossom season and though we were off by just a handful of days, DC was as magnificent as ever and we were able to catch the peak of the Magnolia blossoms, which were quite spectacular!  -Monday- We arrived Monday afternoon and immediately stopped by Roti Modern Mediterranean in Tyson’s Corner–we were famished and this was the perfect late lunch! 48 Hours in Richmond

This weekend, we finally made it to Richmond, after three years of living in VA! It was such a great time and we loved every minute of it! So, I’m going to take you along on our little getaway to one of the most charming and eclectic southern cities. -Thursday- Our first stop for brunch on Thursday was The Pit and the Peel (such a creative play on Edgar Allen Poe’s The Pit and the Pendulum). This was a great spot for a quick brunch—they’ve got lots smoothies, juices, wraps, acaí bowls, and so much more. It’s the perfect place […]

Best Cups o’ Joe in Hampton Roads

One of my and Parker’s favorite things to do is visit coffee shops–we love the cozy atmosphere and the aroma floating through the air. There is nothing like working in our favorite coffee shops while sipping on a yummy cup o’ joe. We’ve been to every coffee shop in the Hampton Roads so I thought I’d share the best ones (they are listed in alphabetical order); from ambiance to the yummiest lattes, these are the creme de la creme!  Bad Ass Coffee–this is my go-to whenever we make it to the beach! Though this is a franchise, it definitely doesn’t […]

A Weekend in San Diego!

San Diego is one of my fave beach cities–it’s big enough to have that big city feel, but small enough that it still has that je ne sais quo that you only get from quirky beach towns. It was my fourth time in San Diego and I thought I would document my trip for those needing a quick getaway weekend guide!  We left for San Diego the day after my oral surgery (my two bottom wisdom teeth were removed), and the doctor told me to stay home and take it easy after my surgery because I had a bit of […]
