The bedroom is a sanctuary for sleep and rest—and we were blessed to create our serene and cozy space over the past couple weeks. Until recently, our entire master bedroom was comprised of hand me downs from family or friends—it never felt like a space we could call our own! Fun fact, the first 6 months of our marriage, we slept on a blow up mattress because we literally had nothing to our name (young, crazy, and in love, right?) Fast forward to now, we LOVE our new space—it’s so peaceful and relaxing, and so personal to us!

||BEDROOM REVEAL|| Until now, our entire master bedroom was comprised of hand me downs from family or friends—it never felt like a space of our own or a place that even had our personalities! *Fun fact, the first 6 months of our marriage, we slept on a blow up mattress bc we literally had nothing to our name (young, crazy, and in love, right?)* 🙈💏 • Fast forward to now, we LOVE our new space—it’s so peaceful and relaxing 🌙 💤, and a place we get to call our very own, so personal to us! 💙 Thank you so much for being such a HUGE part of this refresh, @leesasleep and @zinus! We’ve loved partnering with you—it’s been everything we’ve wanted and more! 🛏💙💫#liveinwonder #lovemyleesa #757life #hrva #homedecor #bedroomdecor #leesa #zinusbedframe
For this bedroom refresh, we partnered with Leesa for our mattress. I had heard so many great things about Leesa and ever since we tried it out at an event, Parker and I knew that when we updated our room, Leesa would be the mattress we would get—not only are they based in Virginia Beach, but they have direct-to-consumer (no middle man) mattresses—it’s so easy because you get your entire mattress delivered in a box right on your doorstep. When you order a Leesa mattress from the website, Dream Galleries, or local West Elm or Pottery Barn store, it is made to order—this means it is assembled and compressed just for you and then shipped right to your door. *Be careful when you’re cutting your mattress open because it can be easy to cut through the plastic and accidentally damage your mattress.*
At this point, we’ve been sleeping on our mattress for about 3-4 weeks and it has been a true blessing, you guys! Our Leesa mattress is so darn comfortable that it’s hard to get out of bed sometimes—it’s just too cozy (even our fur babies are obsessed)! For our mattress, we opted to get the Hybrid (foam and springs) rather than the Original (all foam) or now a third option, the Legend. It all just depends on personal preference and level of firmness you want. If you’re local to the HRVA, you can head to Leesa’s Dream Gallery at the oceanfront to try out all the different options. Cool facts about Leesa, is that they are a certified S corp and they donate a mattress for every mattress purchased. Leesa is just an overall awesome brand and I am so honored to be able to partner with them! If you’re ready to take the plunge on a great night’s sleep, I have a code for you!!! WOOHOO! To get 15% off your order, use the code: LeesaxMillennialFashionista (valid until October 25)!
On our bed frame/platform, we partnered with Zinus! They have so many styles to choose from and assembly is pretty easy (all tools come with the bed and instructions are in the form of bold pictures). We ended up choosing the Athena Wingback Platform Bed Frame in King size (valued at $327). It was has the right amount of wing on the headboard and it's the perfect blend of comfort and style. I think the upholstered look makes it look expensive, the straight lines from the side wings make it look more modern, and the texture and color make it look cozy. So, a little bit of everything is the perfect mix for us! 😉 We wanted the bed to be the center of attention in the bedroom, especially with the blue and gray throw pillows, and I think we succeeded. Our entire king-size bed was delivered in a slender, rectangular box to our doorstep--how cool is that?
Our decor is mix from Home Goods (throw pillows and rug), At Home (painting above headboard), Ikea (side tables, lamps, and damask duvet cover), Costco (recliner and sheet set [seriously better than Boll & Branch because it's SO SOFT]), and Target (frames and throw blanket). We knew we wanted a clean/crisp template (without making it too clinical), but we also wanted it to be cozy and peaceful—so, we threw in some neutral grays and peaceful blues to tie it all together. How awesome is our blue shag rug?! I was actually looking for another rug at Home Goods when I accidentally stumbled upon this one in the "forsaken rugs" section LOL—I think it adds such a fun flair! We really enjoyed updating our bedroom and are looking forward to enjoying it for many years to come!
Catch you guys next time! Kisses, Besos, Pupici!
